"Dramaturgies in Practice" at the University of Lille

Dr. Granshaw was delighted to give a talk, “Dramaturgies in Practice: Irish-American Theatre and Performances of Mobility," at the University of Lille on March 4, 2021. Drawn from her book, Irish on the Move: Performing Mobility in American Variety Theatre, she discussed the hibernicon, an Irish-American moving panorama and variety show, and how its performances of imagined travel served as a nationalist tactic for rewriting Irish history.
